Tomorrowland’s Helping Festival Attendees Connect and Stay In Touch…

by Sheme Jobs

EDM festival Tomorrowland takes place in Belgium over two upcoming weekends in July. The lineup features heavy hitters such as Eric Prydz, Nervo, Skrillex, and Paul Oakenfold.
As I said earlier this year, festival wristbands are becoming more technologically advanced. Festivals such as CounterPoint and Lollapalooza are investing in RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology, in hopes of improving the festival experience. Tomorrowland is following their lead.

Tomorrowland does have an interesting take on tech-powered wristbands. Not only will the wristbands store attendee information for entry, they also have a social purpose.

Tomorrowland hopes their patrons will use wristbands to find new friends. Festival attendees can link their wristband to their Facebook account. Then, when they meet someone in the crowd, both people can press a heart shaped button on their wristbands. A daily email will be sent to those who participate, it will contain the contact info of the new festival friends.
